Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024Government Polytechnic, Mumbai (GPM) prepares creative technical designers for making modern day machines & making people life easier. GPM polytechnic was established in the year 15 June 1960 at Elphinsten Technical School, Dhobi Talav, and Mumbai. GPM polytechnic acquired its current campus in May, 1985. Polytechnic has a Canada India induatry polytechnic linkage project, which provides training to faculty and staff. GPM has been awarded Narsee Monjee Award in 1999 for best performance in the year by ISTE. Polytechnic is accreidated by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for five diploma programmes in 2003. The objective of the GPM is to prepare dexterous engineers, who work together, share there, ideas and solve problems.

The College library has an excellent collection of books and other materials. It is computerized all its operations using software (Slim - 21), and provide access to the collection through online (OPAC). It uses Barcode Technology for circulation of books.
