Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Panaji has earned the enviable reputation of being one of the finest Management Schools in the country. Most B-School surveys have given the Institute top marks in terms of Placement record, Quality of Education, Enabling Infrastructure, Efforts at Globalization, etc. Through the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) the Indian Government has granted accreditation to GIM and the programmes that conducts. This ensures that the quality of education is not compromised in any way. he Institute imparts sound values to enable students to become effective and good leaders. The infrastructure which is being constantly upgraded ensures a comfortable working environment. The library, which is the heart of any institution, gets th e maximum priority.

Course Curriculum

Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management 0 Candidates are required to appear for XAT (XLRI Admission Test), CAT or CMAT (AICTE Test) to be eligible to apply for the programme. On registering for XAT, CAT or CMAT, the candidate can apply to GIM. Based on their test scores, candidates are short-listed for the interview process, which is conducted at seven centres across the country.


The selection for the programme is based on the Test Score (40% weightage), Group Discussion/Personal Interview score (30% weightage), Past Academic performance (15%), Composite Diversity Index (5% weightage) and Previous Work Experience (10% weightage).

The candidate should have minimum 50% aggregate marks, (45% in case of candidates belonging to the Reserved category) in a three-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE.

Placement

This placement season witnessed an increase in the number of offers made, number of companies coming to recruit and number of first time recruiters at GIM. This season also witnessed a robust increase in the number of PPIs and PPOs offered to students. 

Infrastructures

Goa Institute of Management has one of the best infrastructure among business schools. It includes high end servers like IBM Netfinity 5500 & 5000. The common labs are used to learn advanced software. The entire campus is connected on optic fiber backbone with high end switches, which enables the students to get round the clock access to all learning resources from their hostel rooms.

Classroom

The interaction with the professors requires an ambiance, which the spacious and well-equipped classrooms provide. Management studies come alive aided by the visual and audio aids present in all classrooms, each being equipped with a television, video, projection and presentation equipment. The single chair seating arrangement helps in-group activity.

Library

The reading room environment beckons the students to join their peers in the quest for knowledge.

Balanced curriculum and schedule

The curriculum design is based on the diverse variety of students' educational and professional background. The faculty strength is one of the best with relevant work experience. Since, I keep my interests aligned with marketing, operations, economics and a little bit in finance, aspirants for Goa Institute of Management can remain well assured of the quality of faculty in this domain. Economics & Finance has got of our country's best faculty. The faculty in marketing and operations domain has great work and research experience.The way the entire process of grooming for summer placements is done is commendable. Companies come here looking for balanced strength of experienced and freshers. 20+ students' clubs with fun & learning is a rare occurrence in any management institute across the country. The canteen serves one of the best quality food I have ever had on any campus across the country. Coupled with all these things is the awesome climate of Goa that makes learning so easy and fun filled.

DUPLICATE REVIEW So let me start with taking out the notion that Goa is a party state and how can you study there. Drop it. GIM is an experience in itself, from academics to extra curriculars and also how can I miss the pristine campus. Personally it has helped me grow as a person, helped me to learn how to be an independent responsible individual. GIM has a lot to offer it is what you take that matters.
