College of Engineering & Technology was established in the year 1998 in Villupuram by ESSM Educational & Charitable Trust, an off-spring of E.S. Educational & Charitable Trust, which has more than 30 years of excellent track record in running schools, colleges and hospitals. College aim is to offer high quality educational, research and training programmes in science, engineering, technology and management at graduate, post-graduate and doctoral levels and launch out–reach programmes for promotion of socio–economic standards of communities through extra- mural programmes.

Placement
The Training & Placement Cell assists the students to get placed in reputed organizations. It provides career guidance to the students and trains them on soft-skills to make them job-ready. Many reputed organizations visit ESCET for campus selection. The record of placement of students is quite impressive. The T & P Cell works closely with industries to bring in frequent and effective interface between the potential employers and students. The Cell has a Career information centre and counseling unit. The data base in the centre is updated constantly with the names and addresses of potential employers in India and abroad.

Library
A Digital Library functions within the main Library with an excellent collection of CDs and facilities for viewing. There is also a good collection of educational of audio tapes. A Reprographics Section functions within the Library for the benefit of staff students.
