Department of business economics is affiliated to Delhi University. Departmant offers various courses in the field of economics. The Department has consistently endeavored to provide students with strong conceptual and analytical skills in order to inculcate proficient management abilities in them. The academic pedagogy has been designed to create a strong orientation towards seamless applicability of economics and related econometric tools at various functions of an enterprise and areas of social policy making.

Placement

The institute has built an extensive network with the industry and a large Placement Division to assist students with their traineeship and final placements. The Cell regularly organizes seminars, pre placement talks, student-industry interactions and campus interviews. The students are also provided individual counseling for better career planning.

Infrastructures

The campus has a wide range of facilities & resources which support students throughout their academic career at the College. They are designed to meet the requirements of the academic and professional programmes. These are reviewed and maintained regularly in order to ensure that students have full access to all the facilities.

Classroom

The Octagonal classrooms are well equipped with audio visual facilities. The classrooms are well ventilated and provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussion.

Laboratory

The Department of Business Economics has an excellent Computer Lab equipped with the latest hardware and houses latest softwares like SAS, SPSS, and Stata etc.

Library

In keeping with the vision that leaning has a strong foundation in theory, the library caters to various disciplines ranging from finance to philosophy. It houses more than two lakh titles and subscribes to over 500 nationally and internationally acclaimed magazines, periodicals and journals, with archives of over two decades. In addition, it has also been acquiring, on a selective basis, important Central Government publications and also publications of international organizations.

A mesmerizing experience

A beautiful campus, along with erudite faculty and some lovely peers makes this place full of learning and worth spending your time. The USP of the department is its MBA program with dual specialization among Quantitative techniques of Business(Analytics), finance, marketing, and economics. The course is best known for its emphasis on analytics and most of the students are well aware of its concepts because of the rigorous curriculum which includes subjects like Statistics, Econometrics (Basic and advanced), Time series, game theory, data analysis, market research among others. Most students are also well versed with industry relevant tools like SAS, R, Excel, SPSS, Stata, etc. The department offers an extremely good return on investment. The fee is one of the lowest in the country. If compared to top B-schools, the placements are at par with them. I had an amazing time at the Department of Business Economics. I came in raw and nervous and now when I am about to end my journey, I am polished and wiser. I am almost ready to fit in the corporate world. I feel truly blessed that I got this opportunity to be a part of this Department.

Great college in terms of ROI and knowledge

I joined here in the year 2014 with aspirations of doing my MBA. I had this perception that here I would get proper B School culture. However, I was disappointed with the college culture here. Hardly any case studies are solved in classes. The college is only good for analytics professionals as they teach high level statistics.

The college offers the best ROI, decent placements, good faculty, good infrastructure and DU brand. The crowd is good and at par with other B Schools. The college offers one of the few economic courses centred on Analytics industry other than offering good opportunity in Economic research, market research and Analytics.

Awesome campus and best faculty

Study is very much fun here and two years don't seem to be long. The faculty members are very supportive. There is Stya Niketan to hangout, awesome hostel facility, best cafeteria, a lush green campus to add an extra flavour, ample parking facility. One just needs to come and feel the atmosphere around. But the college needs to focus on sports facilities and on condition of the classrooms.
