Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune is imparting international standard education, training and research facilities for its learners. In ersthwhile institute is known as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus but from 1st April 2006 they renamed it to its present name Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT). The Institute is an Autonomous Organization & comes under the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence, and Govt. of India. DIAT acquired the status of a Deemed University from the year 2000. Institute offers postgraduate programmes in Mechanical engineering. The objective of the DIAT is to strengthen collaboration with the Armed Forces, Academia, R&D Institutions and Industry.

Placement
The Placement cell of the institute plays an imperative role. The placement cell is managed by the placement officer. The placement cell maintain strong nexus with various Government, Semi Government Organizations, Private and Public Sectors for campus recruitment. The objective of the Placement Cell is to look for a 100% employment of all the students. The Placement Cell provides all audio visual facilities for PowerPoint Presentations, written test, group discussion and interviews.
Infrastructures
Institute campus is fully encircled by greenery, flower beds, water ponds which create a salubrious environment for the academics. Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) is Wi-Fi enabled and provides ample opportunities for students to excel in their fields of study. Institute provides world class infrastructure facilities for the students, which comprises well – stocked library, a modern computer lab, and Multimedia classrooms etc.

Institute has international styled step-based classrooms. All the classrooms are well furnished equipped with LCD projection systems and Wi-Fi enabled.

Institute provides separate lab for each department. The labs of the institute are well kit out with latest apparatus. The labs of the institute assist learner and researcher in their experiments and give them practical knowledge in their respective field
