Nirmala Niketan stands for academic excellence whereby young women are equipped to meet successfully the challenges of family life as well as those from the professional world of a changing modern India. The College of Home Science is a grant-in-aid Institute with the University of Mumbai and offers education in Home Science to Christian Women in particular and others too, irrespective of their caste, creed and colour. The College offers Bachelor of Science in Home Science, Master of Science in Home Science,  Master of Philosopher in Home Science. Doctor of Philosophy, Food Processing & Preservation, Research Methods and Statistics Course for Doctoral Students in Home Science and Diploma in Dietetics and Applied Nutrition courses.

Nutrition & Exercise for Fitness - PG Diploma in Dietetics and T.Y.B.Sc -
Doctor of Philosophy (Home Science) - The candidate should have passed masters degree or equivalent from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks. Selection will be based as per the university norms. -
Research Methods and Statistics Course for Doctoral Students in Home Science - Candidates who have completed Doctoral in Home Science. -
Post graduate diploma in Dietetics and Applied Nutrition - The candidate should have passed masters degree or equivalent from any recognised university. Selection will be based as per the university norms. -
Workstation Design and Applied Ergonomics - B.Sc. or M.Sc. CRM/FRM degree -
Visual Merchandising - 10+2 -

Placement

The placement cell provides employment opportunities to its students.

Infrastructures

The college’s infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities with the availability of support services for the students such as different counselling centres, women's grievance cell and the placement cell.

Classroom

All the classrooms are well furnished with all modern facilities.

Laboratory

The college has well equipped laboratories for Junior college, Degree College and the Post-Graduate programme. The laboratories have been recently renovated with good lighting, modern fittings and locker facilities for students that are conducive to performing regular practicals at UG/PG level and other research purposes.

Library

The library has a collection of over 16000 volumes for reference and circulation. It offers reference and lending services in addition to providing orientation to the new users. The well-equipped college library helps teachers and students in study and research by providing Internet access, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility and photocopying facility. Amazing experience. Learnt with fun and a lot of hard work.

It was an amazing experience to be a part of this college. Wonderful teachers who didn't only teach me to complete the syllabus but ensured that I learnt it for my life. Most importantly I had opportunities to apply my theoretical learning as we had a lot of practical work (with redid to ensure accurate outcome) and fieldwork which has gone a long way in shaping me. Lot of activities to participate where I had immense exposure to understand myself better and others around me. I wish I have an opportunity to be connected with NN forever.

The college offers various courses to the students. They provide quality education and help the students to develop their overall personality. Non-teaching and administrative staff is helpful and cooperative. Extracurricular activities takes place on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to participate. Internships and jobs are provided to most of the students. Faculties are expert in their subject. They are very professional and experienced. They guide the students in the best way.

Good location. Refreshing environment. Safe surrounding. Transportation facility is good. All the students are helpful, graceful and friendly. Washroom are clean. Purified drinking water. Spacious classrooms. Well equipped labs and huge library. Teaching and non-teaching staff is cooperative. Teachers are the best part of the college. They provide the students with relevant knowledge and information about the outside world. They provide proper notes to the students. Internals and revision tests are conducted. Students have the right to ask their doubts and the teachers explain them nicely. Training is given to the students to crack placement interviews. Placements are offered by reputed companies with good salary packages.
