Annamalai University is a fully developed university, situated in the Annamalainagar, which is a busy town kit out with all kind of advanced amenities. The Annamalai University is a grouping of more than 3240 members on its teaching staff also includes colleges, hostels, forty-nine Departments of Study and playgrounds, which are extended in an area of about thousand acres. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accredited Annamalai University at the 'A' Grade level among the universities. The University was commenced in the year 1929 by noble hearted philanthropist and patron of letters the late Hon’ble Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt, LL.D., D.Litt. The objective of the Annamalai University is to articulate the value-based knowledge and skills in its students so that they can identify and handle the complex problems.

Placement
Annamalai University has fully- grow placement cell, which is managed by the team of experts. The placement cell of the university meticulously trained each learner for the industries and hones their multiple skills. Annamalai has university institute partnership cell, which is set up for reducing the gap between industry & academics by including them in academics programmes. The objective of the placement cell is to regularly conduct Industrial Training and Industrial Visits for the students and faculty.

Annamalai University is encircled by flower beds, water ponds which create a scenic atmosphere for academics. University has an aesthetically designed edifice which comprises trendy classrooms, computer labs, Library etc. University is fully fit out Playground for sports, Canteen where students get scrumptious food, reading room, separate girls and boy’s hostels, Yoga Center, Instrumentation and Service Laboratory, Hospital, Auditorium, Water & Power Supply,Campus Internet Center etc.

The college has a state-of-art computer laboratory equipped with 60 P-IV nodes on LAN system with free internet access through 512 Kbps broadband facility.

The library of the college is a house of knowledge, extended in an area of 36,000 sq.ft. The building of the library is well designed in H shape by the famous architects namely Messers. Prynne, Abbot, and Davis.
