The Aliah University is primarily found as Aliah Madrasah in 1780. But later in 2008, it converted into Aliah University.  The University is autonomous and controlled by the state government. The Aliah University offers many professional undergraduate and graduate programmes such as Engineering, Arts, Science and Management subjects.

The mission of the Aliah University is to create a competitive atmosphere and promote humanism, secularism, national integration, and international understanding through their provided academic courses, seminars, symposia, conferences, and praxis.

The Aliah University has four campuses. The admission process in Aliah University is based on the Admission test merit list. An exam "Aliah University Admission Test" (AUAT) is conducted every year, which consists multiple choice type question. After clearing this, a student has to face an interview round, which is last and final.Aliah University is known for its 235-year rich heritage. There are many scholars and administrator who were associated with this University.
