Workshop on ‘Awareness Generation on Mental Health’: Dibrugarh University, Assam

A workshop was held in Dibrugarh University Auditorium, Rangghar at 11.00 am to 12.30 pm on April 25, 2012 on ‘Awareness Generation on Mental Health’. The workshop was presented by the Director of Ashadeep Mental Health Society, Dr.Anjana Goswami and Psychologist Snigdha Ghosh. It was organised by Ashadeep in association with Navajbhai Ratan Tata Trust. The main objective of this workshop was to create awareness on the issues of Mental Health amongst college and university students through competition on developing themes on communication tools for Awareness Generation on Mental Health.

Interested participants were required to submit the themes/scripts for the following communication categories:

• Poster competition- Each participant should submit 2 no. of posters. Size1/4 of art paper and medium of art should be poster color.
• Still Photographs- Each participant should submit 5 no. of photographs of size'6x9'.
• Audio clipping- Each participants should submit the script of maximum 60 seconds.
• Film- Each participant should submit the concept along with script of 3 minutes.

The best 10 entries in each category were selected to participate in workshops conducted by renowned experts of each category. At the workshop organized in Dibrugarh University, the selected participants developed the final film/audio tracks/photographs/posters under the guidance of the experts. In the film category, the selected students got the opportunity to make a short film at Jyoti Chitraban.
