West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or the WBJEE is a state-government examination controlled centralised test for admission to private and governmental medical and engineering institutions in West Bengal.

The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduatie courses. The exam can be taken by those who have studied a pure science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

There are two separate tests for medical colleges and engineering colleges, the difference being that the medical test has the Biology paper while the engineering test has the Mathematics paper. 

WBJEE can be taken at examination centres in West Bengal and Tripura.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed as West Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering Degree Colleges in the year 1962.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Students who are Citizen of India and have attained the age group of 17-24 years are only eligible for WBJEE. 
  • The minimum qualification eligibility required by candidates is higher secondary (10+2 with aggregate of 50% marks for general and 40% for SC/ST in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences). 
  • All categories are required to score 30% marks in English. 
  • Candidates must obtain pass marks for all the subjects including the fifth additional subject to get admission into any of the  offered that includes: 

                 1 .  B.E/ B.Tech./B.Arch
                 2 .  M.B.B.S/B.D.S/B.V.Sc
                 3 .  Pharmacy
