University of Madras invites application forms for their 2 years Master of Law (M.L) programme for academic year 2013-2014. Students interested in M.L degree programme are welcome to apply.
Master of Law (M.L) degree course is being offered by Department of Legal Studies under University of Madras. The course will be taught in English medium only. The students must attend ten days personal Contact Programme classes each year to be eligible for I & II year examinations respectively.

Lawyers play an important role in the society and are required at all levels by various sections of the society – be it judicial offices, schools, individuals, corporate houses and government. Apparently, lawyers have opportunities outside the legal profession in areas such as NGOs, politics, business, broadcasting, finance, insurance and publishing.
Application forms will be available at “Application Sales Counter” at the Chepauk Campus of the University.
Eligibility Criteria M.L Degree course at Madras University:
Students who have passed B.L./L.L.B., from a recognized university under regular pattern of study i.e. (10+2+3+3) or ( 11+1+3+3) (or) 10+2+5 are eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure:
Students will be selected on the basis of Dissertation and Viva of 100 marks conducted by Department of Legal Studies, University of Madras.
- Dissertation: 60 marks
- Viva: 40 marks

- Application forms can be downloaded from official website of University of Madras
- Students can get application forms at Application Sales Counter at the Chepauk Campus of the University by paying Rs. 200/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST students)
