A two week workshop on Entry to the Services for the students aspiring to take up the Civil Services Examination was commenced on September 2, 2015 at the Centre for Management Studies. Mr. Subhash Chandra Das, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Assam inducted the induction programme.
The workshop was intended to foster the students with innate knowledge about the Civil Services Entrance Examinations and how can they crack the exam with professional guidance, strategic preparation, perseverance and hard work. Dr. Das shared his own experiences, how he triumphed in cracking the Indian Forest Services Examination with First Position.
Mr. Apurba Jiban Baruah, IPS, IGP, Central Assam Zone was the guest of Honour. He briefed about the tactics to be used while preparing for the Entrance Exam. He accentuated that students need to be disciplined, they should show grit and determination and diligence to their efforts. Mr. Raj Kamal Bhuyan, a former Assistant Governor of the Rotary International, chattered to the scholars they should not stick to one forte rather they must be passionate about whatever they do to succeed in life.
The workshop was a great success and ended with a good note. Professor Alak K Buragohain, the Vice Chancellor also shared his views following what the key speakers talked upon. Miss Akangshmita Goswami, a student of the MBA programme offered the Vote of Thanks before concluding the function.
