Sports Fest in Mangalayatan University, Aligarh on 30 & 31 March, 2012

The gala sports event will be held at Mangalayatan University, Aligarh. Mangalayatan University is a pioneer in the education field with colleges and institutes offering Business Management, Visual & Performing Arts, Computer Applications, Legal Studies, Biomedical Research, Journalism & Mass Communication, Engineering & Technology, Hospitality Management and many more.

General Information

• Registration/entry fee is Rs 2000 per college/university
• Last date of registration is March 25, 2012
• Each match of all the sports will be on knockout basis
• Each team will be in their proper official kit of their institution
• Each team should be escorted by their official team manager/coach, who will be completely responsible for the conduct of their team
• Decision of the referees would be final, and cannot be challenged
• Walk out of any team will be treated as disqualification
• A single team can have more than one match in a single day with a break of max half an hour or another team’s match duration (whichever is less), depending upon the time schedule.
• For boys, sports available to participate are-volleyball, basketball, athletics, table tennis
• For girls, sports available for participation is only  athletics

Rules

• Teams from only professional and technical departments of the institutes/colleges/universities are eligible to participate.
• Each college/university should register or confirm their participation on or before 25th march 2012 either through mail, e-mail, telephone or fax
• Information brochure and detailed fixture will be provided upon student’s arrival in the university campus.
• All the players of a particular team should carry an i-card of their current institution, failing of which that particular student won’t be allowed to participate in any of the matches.
• Each outstation participating team should arrive the Mangalayatan campus till 10 pm on 29th march 2012
• Along with the runner and winner trophies, there are best player trophies in each of the sports along with the COLOSSEUM’12 trophy will be awarded to the college/university winning maximum trophies and medals.
• Total sports available for participation are volleyball, basketball, table tennis and athletics(details are enclosed)
• A volleyball and basketball team may consist of up to 12 players and one coach/manager
• Only the players recorded on the score sheet may enter the court and play in the match. Once the coach and the team captain have signed the score sheet, the recorded players cannot be changed
• The team captain must have on his/her jersey a stripe underlining the number on the chest.
• It is forbidden to wear uniforms of a colour different from that of the other players (except for the Liberos in volleyball), and/or without official numbers.
• Both the team captain and the coach are responsible for the conduct and discipline of their team members.
• Both in volleyball and basketball when the ball is out of play, only the game captain is authorized to speak to the referees
• For table tennis, team should comprise of 3 players only
• Athletics team can have a maximum of 11 players and a minimum of 4 players.
• Maximum no of players from a college/university can be 49, to participate in all four sports.
• Only accommodation will be provided by university to all the outstation colleges/university.
