Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Zubin Irani today inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Human Development (MGAHD) at Chuchuyimlang under Mokokchung district of Nagaland.
Speaking on the occasion Smriti Irani said, the founder of the Nagaland Gandhi Ashram Nathwar thakkarat has done excellent work in establishing the Gandhi Ashram.
She, on her maiden visit to Nagaland, further encouraged and enlightened the youngsters to take part in the Prime Minister Mudra Bank Yojna, which provides loans for upcoming entrepreneurs and youths to establish themselves as employed citizens and build a self sufficient future for themselves.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang along with Nagaland Ministers Nuklutoshi, Yitachu, and Dr, imtiwapang, among other bureaucrats and dignitaries.
The MGAHD will be the 5th Campus of TISS in India and will initially have Master of Social Work and Diploma courses on Social Work and Entrepreneurship. The session for the Diploma course will begin from November 2015 while that of MSW course will start in the middle of next year. The Academy will establish more institutes for various professional courses in phase manner, sources said.
