The Medical Council of India approved the post-graduate course in geriatrics. The state government said that such a post graduate course will be launched from 2011.
Geriatrics is a branch of medicine which deals with professional care for elderly people.
The state governent will seek approval from the Medical Council to initiate the post-graduate course in geriatrics in 10 colleges in the state before the commencement of the academic year July-August 2011.
