Pearl Academy Partners with WEvolve to Fight Against Gender Based Violence

Pearl Academy in its efforts to Fight Against Gender Based Vilence partnered with WEvole’s global campaign to create awareness and drive social change on Gender base Violence (GBV). Pearl Academy proudly partnered with WEvolve through multiple student driven activities across India.

The initial step was a T- Shirt competition organized by the Academy and WEvolve. A good number of innovative designs were brought to the table by the talented lot of Pearl Academy across four campuses in New Delhi, Noida, Jaipur and Mumbai.

The T-Shirt design competition was just the beginning of our partnership with WEvolve. We have many more activities planned to contribute towards the cause.”

Maria Correia, gender expert at the World Bank, a WEvolve founding partner, said, “WEvolve is a collaborative effort, involving many partners. We will work with young men and women to change gender norms that lead to gender-based violence, and we will partner with the creative industries to identify innovative solutions to this intractable issue. The winners of the Tshirt competition were announced on March 18, 2015 at the official launch of the Wevolve campaign in India. The launch took place at hotel Palladium in Mumbai. The WEvolve team had to dig out the winners from the various entries sent by students of Pearl Academy. WEvolve rewarded the winning designs by printing those on T-Shirts and giving as a souvenier at the launch event to the attendees.
