This course involves a hands-on training, teaching in a workshop mode as well as linkages with industry. Courses also involve field trips.

“Pedagogy at AUD stresses on developing reading, writing and  presentation skills. Group work in the form of presentations is encouraged. A continuous assessment  policy means that learning takes place in apaced manner throughout the semester

Students at AUD can also participate in work and earn programmes, which allow students to participate in oncampus jobs,” adds Venkataraman. A 40-room hostel facility for women students is expected to be available from 2013-2014. The university is also considering ways and means to enhance facilities for students from outside Delhi.

According to Venkataraman, “An undergraduate degree at AUD seeks to offer a liberal arts education while at the same time keeping in mind that every undergraduate must have knowledge within discipline domains, must beable to analyse and critically engage with problems, should have requisite quantitative, analytical and computer based skills and should be well-equipped to read, write and communicate.” The most sought after courses at AUD are economics honours, English honours and psychology honours.


Admission process:
Just as last year, this year’s admission process is also paper-less. AUD will only accept online applications. Payment can be done online mode, through demand drafts as well as at the cash counter on AUD campus. On-site computer facilities will be made available for making online applications. Student volunteers will be there to guide prospective applicants. Online applications for BA honours programmes will be available from May 27, 2013 till June 22, 2013.
