Eligibility Criteria for NLC Recruitment through GATE 2022:

Management Trainee (Mechanical):

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or AMIE in Mechanical Engineering with 60% marks for UR/OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST, from a recognised university.

Management Trainee (EEE):

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or AMIE in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering, with 60% marks for UR/OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST, from a recognised university.

Management Trainee (ECE):

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or AMIE in Electronics & Communication Engineering with 60% marks for UR/OBC and 50% marks for SC, from a recognised university.

Management Trainee (Civil):

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Civil/Civil & Structural Engineering or AMIE in Civil/Civil & Structural Engineering with 60% marks for UR/OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST, from a recognised university.

Management Trainee (Control and Instrumentation):

Age Limit for NLC Recruitment through GATE 2022:

The age requirements are listed below for NLC recruitment through GATE 2022 -

• Maximum age limit for General category candidates is 30 years
• Candidates with OBC reservation receive 3 years relaxation in upper age limit
• Candidates with ST or SC reservation receive 5 years relaxation in upper age limit
• People with disabilities (PWD) receive 10 years relaxation in upper age limit
• OBC candidates with disability receive 13 years relaxation in upper age limit
• SC/ST candidates with disability receive 15 years relaxation in upper age limit
• Candidates with Ex-Servicemen quota also receive age relaxation as per Government guidelines

Valid GATE Score for NLC Recruitment through GATE 2022:

The score of the candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 will be a determining factor in the selection. The graduate engineers who are interested in taking up a career in NLC need to appear for GATE 2022 in the relevant disciplines.

On the basis of the GATE score, candidates will then be qualified for the next selection rounds consisting of a group discussion and a personal interview to assess a candidates’ understanding of different facets, skills and attitude. Candidates have to first successfully pass the GATE 2022 examination and after that the GD and PI to make it to the selection. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE score, GD and PI scores, and will as per each discipline.

The following table shows the tentative cut-off GATE score for each branch for candidates applying for NLC.

Application Process for NLC Recruitment through GATE 2022:

• The eligible candidates should Register and Apply online only through the official website of www.nlcindia.com. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
• Before registering or applying online, the candidates should possess valid e-mail ID, which should remain valid at least for next one year.
• The Online application portal will be active from 10:00 hours on January 6 to 17:00 hours on January 31, 2022.
• Candidates should enter correctly the GATE Registration Number (indicated in the GATE Admit Card) in the online application.
• After submitting the online application, a Registration-Cum-Application Form will be generated. Candidates are required to retain the hard copy of Registration-Cum-Application Form and receipt for Payment of Application Fee for future reference and also for furnishing the same when called for.

In case the applicant is called for the selection process, he/she should produce the following documents/certificates, along with a set of Photostat copy of the same: 

1. Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC / Matriculation Mark List)
2. Proof for having notified Qualification (Provisional/Degree Certificates)
3. Proof for having prescribed percentage of marks in qualifying degree
4. GATE 2022 Score Card
5. Community Certificate in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority (in case belonging to OBC (NCL)/ SC/ST categories)
6. Disability Certificate, clearly indicating the type of disability (in case of PWD)
7. Discharge Certificate (if Ex-Servicemen)
8. No objection Certificate (in case working in PSE / Govt. / Quasi Govt.)
9. Self-certified translated copy of the SC/ST/OBC/Disability certificate, either in English or Hindi, in case the same is in a language other than English or Hindi

Salary Structure for NLC Recruitment through GATE 2022:

Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of INR 20,600 - 46,500 (E-2 Grade) and offered attractive compensation package (CTC approximately ranging from INR 9.05 Lacs to 9.65 Lacs per annum). They will be on training for a period of minimum one year. During the training period, the GETs will be paid Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance and Common Allowance per month.

In addition to the above, they will be paid Performance Related Pay annually and entitled for superannuation benefit (30% of basic pay + Dearness Allowance), free Medical treatment for self and dependents, HBA, Group Insurance etc. as per rules. Eligible residential accommodation will be provided depending on the place of posting at a nominal rent.
