Mumbai University has invited application for PhD in Economics, Sociology, Chemical Technology, Statistics, Civics and Politics, Psychology, Law, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Marathi, Geography, Gujarati, Hindi, Physics, Education, Computer Science, Kannada, Commerce, Life Sciences, Sindhi, Urdu, Philosophy, German, Russian, Arabic and French.
Eligibility to apply for PhD at Mumbai University:
Candidates must have passed the Master’s degree examination from recognised university with minimum 55% marks in the subject of his/her interest.
Selection procedure for admission to PhD at Mumbai University:
- Admission to PhD will be based on PhD Entrance Test (PET).
- Candidates who have appeared for GATE/SET/NET/JRF examination/Teacher fellowship holder of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be exempted from appearing for PET.
- The PET 2013 will be held on 21st April 2013.
- Candidates can apply on/before 17th April 2013.
Exam Patter for PET 2013:
- The PhD Entrance test shall consist of the various topics included in the compulsory/core papers at Postgraduate degree level in the respective subject of University of Mumbai.
- The question paper will consist of three types of questions viz. Objective-40 marks; short answers-30 marks and long answers-30 marks.
- Candidates securing 50 or more marks in entrance test will be declared as successful and eligible to apply for admission process.
