The National Testing Agency (NTA) publishes the JEE Main requirements on its website. Candidates must satisfy the qualifying conditions to register for the JEE Main Test 2024. It includes information like minimum age, maximum age, nationality, and Class 12 grade point average. Those who apply but don't satisfy these criteria won't even be considered.
Candidates for the JEE Main test in 2024 do not need to be a certain age. All students, regardless of age, who have completed or will complete the class 12/equivalent test in 2022, 2023, or 2024 are qualified to sit for the JEE Main 2024 exam. However, prospective students should check the age restrictions of their chosen schools before applying.

The announcement includes information about the required participation qualifications, exam dates, format, and content. To sit for the JEE Main test, applicants must have obtained their 10+2 diploma from an accredited school or board.
JEE Main 75% Criteria:
No matter your grade point average in class 12, you may still take JEE Main. Candidates should be informed that a certain grade point average (GPA) in high school is not required.
The Government of India has abolished the minimum qualifying requirement of 75% marks for admission to the institute in 2020, 2021, and 2022 because of the COVID-19 conditions.
The NTA's most recent eligibility standards bring back the 75% cutoff. The minimum qualifying grade point average for candidates from the SC/ST category is 65%.
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria of Subjects in Class 12/Qualifying Exam:
There will be a JEE Main 2024 for BTech, BArch, and BPlan students. Each of the three classes offers a unique curriculum.
For JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 (BTech):
Candidates must take Physics and Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or a Technical Vocational Subject as a third required course.
For JEE Main 2024 Paper 2A (BArch):
Candidates must have passed the class 12/equivalent Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics test.
For JEE Main 2024 Paper 2B (BPlan):
Candidates should have passed a high school mathematics course or its equivalent.
Eligibility for the JEE Main based on Attempts
It is important to note that the JEE Main 2024 test is only open to students who have either completed their Class 12/equivalent examination or will do so in 2024. The Class 12/equivalent test is unavailable to candidates who have already taken or will take it in 2025 or later.
There will be two administrations of the JEE Main each year beginning in 2024.
JEE Main 2024 Age Limit Criteria:
The maximum age for General category (GEN) applicants is 25. Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1996, to be eligible. In contrast, applicants in the SC/ST and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1991, to qualify.

JEE Main Counselling
The counselling process will begin after the JEE Main sessions and JEE Advanced tests have concluded in 2024. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conduct the counselling session virtually at josaa.nic.in. The JEE Main Counselling Procedure 2024 includes the following:
- Signing up.
- Making a list of preferences.
- Getting a seat assignment.
- Accepting the seat.
- Showing up at the designated college.
Counselling for admission to all JOSAA participating colleges will be based on JEE Main scores. Hence, those who took JEE Main are welcome to apply. Candidates with a high score on the JEE Advanced exam will be considered for admission to the IITs by the JoSAA. All 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and GF TIs will use JOSAA as their admissions office. To accommodate everyone who wishes to attend JoSAA 2024, we shall distribute seats following the preferences expressed by each registrant.
