Jamia Mass Communication Entrance Exam 2022 syllabus has been released by the Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI University) to help the aspirants to draw an overview of important topics in each subject that need to be prepared for the coveted mass communication entrance exam. JMI Mass Communication Entrance Exam 2022 Syllabus:
The syllabus for JMI Mass Communication entrance exam 2022 consists of three stages namely: Written Test, Interview and Portfolio. The detailed syllabus for each stage is defined below:
Written Test:
The written test comprises of two sections: Section A (Objective Test) and Section B (Subjective Test).
Section A: This section will consists of questions based on:
- National and international political issues/personalities
- General knowledge
- Film, television and other media
- Art, Literature and culture
Section B: This section of the written test will have essay type long questions which are designed to analyse the understanding of contemporary issues and the media of the applicants. Apart from this, section B also reflects the candidates’ skills in story-telling, creative aptitude and visualisation.
Interview:
The candidates should have intact knowledge on parameters like:
- Contemporary media
- Knowledge of film including fiction and non-fiction
- Creative aptitude along with visualisation skills
- Knowledge of political, cultural, social and economic issues
- Subject studied at their graduation level
The candidates will also be judged on their overall performance including articulation, reasoning and confidence etc.
Portfolio:
The candidates who will appear for the interview are required to carry a portfolio of documents/evidence of their participation in media-related work and extra-curricular activities at college and university level or any participation in media-related work experience after completing their school.
The candidates’ portfolio will be evaluated on the basis of the following parameters:
- Proof of production works including audio or visual media based work
- Proof for participation in social activities like involvement with NGOs or social organisations
- Published work like articles and stories etc. published in reputed magazines or journals
- Proof for any online work was done
- Proof of participation in extra-curricular activities including debating, painting, music, theatre etc.
