Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Delhi Organized ‘Tuesday Talk Series’

The continuous faculty interaction programme was an initiative by the academicians to present their research papers or any other similar activity to JIMS fraternity. The resource persons for the presentations were Ms Pooja Jain (Associate Professor) JIMS Ms. Jyoti Kukreja (Assistant Professor) JIMS. The JIMS faculty and other staff members from various departments attended the presentation.

Ms. Jyoti Kukreja and Ms. Pooja Jain presented papers on the topic of “Transition from Greed to Green” and “Entry of organized Retail: Impact on small retailers”.

The main topics covered included:

• The importance of sustaining greener and cleaner environment
• Green Jobs which benefit environment by using fewer natural resources for production process
• The holistic sustainable development
• The need for the “DO” Culture where the frequency of using eco-friendly products
• Ways and means which should be employed to sustain an eco-friendly environment
• Role of HR to serve the environmental needs.
• Introduction of the Retail sector in India
• Factors highlighting the need for the Indian retail formats
• The objectives of small retailers in organized retailing
• Reasons for purchase from Kirana Shop

The presentations were well appreciated by the audience as it proved to be good learning experience for most of the participants. Many of the students were encouraged to undertake research in new fields and share their observations with others, and were learning and a fruitful experience for the staff & other faculty members.
