The online lecture on January 28, 2015 conducted by Delhi University received an overwhelming response, where Professor Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi delivered his speech.
The lecture was conducted on the topic “India in the 21st Century”, started by 2 pm and witnessed a huge gathering of around 800 students. Several hundreds of students linked by web conferencing at all the colleges of Delhi University.
The lecture was also streamed on DU website. The students everywhere were highly enthusiastic and participated in the interactive session with the Vice Chancellor. There was a great demand by the students that more such online lectures should be held.
The session demonstrated the power of technology in disseminating knowledge and engaging very large numbers as listeners, viewers, and participants. An online quiz was also implemented to test the technology platform based on the lecture. The recorded lecture will be available on the website and the project group will remain engaged with further work on the series.
