IESMCRC as social media partner at CAAYE 2013 international summit

For the 2nd year in succession IESMCRC were the Social Media Partners for Common Wealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs- CAAYE 2013. A large group of IESMCRC students were engaged in building attention and support for young entrepreneurs of 11 countries, since August 2013, under leadership of Prof. Mohan B. Rao- Associate Dean, IESMCRC, Mumbai. Dr. Rahul Mirchandani- Founder President –CAAYE had said “ …this task is a very daunting one as we have to get attention in a clutter of wide spread social media activities” Prof. Rao mentioned to him..”IESMCRC will leave no stone unturned and will deliver to Dr Rahul’s expectations”.

Finally much to the delight of IESMCRC, CAAYE invited select students to visit Colombo, Sri Lanka from November 7 to 12, 2013 to continue the social media activities and cover the live proceedings of the entire event. Prof. Mohan B. Rao along with a select student group comprising Karan Mange, Vikrant Desai, Nishant Kohojkar, Pooja Jaiswal, Shruti Shetty, Mehernawaz Panthaky, Poonam Kanuga and Rohan Fonseca managed the entire social media activities at Colombo. Eight Commonwealth Asian Nations joined hands to discuss the contemporary needs of young entrepreneurs in the region in parallel to the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meetings (CHOGM). The theme of the summit was highlighted as “Profit with a Purpose” which argued around its key objectives in promoting an ecosystem that supports the development of young entrepreneurs who contribute to economic, social and environmental sustainability across CAAYE countries. CAAYE 2013 was hosted by the Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sri Lanka (FCCISL) in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The summit included field visits to various sizes of entrepreneurial ventures, business to business meetings and eminent panel of speakers who shared their experiences towards success, which included Jeremy Liddle, President G20 Australia, Dr Shiraz Gidwani, Chief Executive Officer, Iktara World, Ahmed Alhendawi, the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Youth, Ajith Nivad Cabral, Governor, C. J Siriwardena, Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ms Shazia Bakshi and the list goes on.

Dr Shiraz Gidwani spoke to the IESMCRC students and said..” You are all very privileged to be at IESMCRC which exposes you all to latest technologies and global challenges”. Mr. Adnan Lee, Managing Director MBG Fruits, Malaysia was very appreciative of the efforts put in by the students and the quickness with which the events were being covered and relayed across the world wide web.

Mr. Marwan Bin Masom, CEO,Thinking Green, Malaysia and successful winner of Regional competition by CAAYE said..” I am delighted to see how all of you are working as a team”. Ms Nurul-Huda Mohamed Afandi, Incoming President CAAYE invited IESMCRC to Malaysia to manage the social media for CAAYE 2014.
