HTCampus Conclave on Excellence in Education 2013 felicitates private colleges in Delhi NCR

For the first time ever, click4college.com organised the click4college Conclave on Excellence in Education on February 22, 2013 to acknowledge the contribution of private colleges in the field of education. Close to 200 colleges across Engineering & Technology, Management, Hotel Management, Fashion Technology, Mass Communication and Animation in Delhi NCR partook in the event.The conclave also strived to seek an understanding of how private participation in education will change the dynamics of higher education.

The click4college Conclave on Excellence in Education 2013 was organised in association with Galgotias Group of Institutions and Ganga Group of Institutions. The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Ved Prakash, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), India. In his welcome address, Prof. Prakash stressed on the need to have quality education, rather than commercial education and stressed on the fact that everybody, including private colleges should provide restraint free education to people of backward classes, minority groups and students below poverty line so that the society progresses as a whole and there is no gap in the education process.

With the purpose of awarding significant contribution by private institutes, a multi disciplinary research organisation Cfore was involved to conduct a survey on these participating colleges on the basis of courses, facilities, faculty, placement, fees, infrastructure and opportunities provided to students’ vis-à-vis industry exposure. The result was then analysed to reveal the results.

An important part of the conclave was the Panel Discussion on ‘Effects of Private Participation on Higher Education’. Eminent educationists from both private colleges and government colleges participated in the discussion and evaluated the importance and need of privatisation of education in India, its pros & cons and the impact of education by government institutes.

• Mr. Suneel Galgotia – Founder and Chairperson, Galgotias Group of Institutions.

The discussion was moderated by Mrs. Usha Albuquerque, noted TV personality and career counsellor, columnist and author.

Note - The Jury awards were given out to acknowledge the college’s contribution in each of the categories. The awards were decided after an audit conducted by click4college team and after speaking to the students.

The award ceremony was followed by dinner & drinks.
