According to the official website of IIT Guwahati, it is the conducting authority of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2022. It has also been estimated that the application forms will be issued on 01 September 2022. The officials has revealed that IIT Guwahati is organizing the examination and its final notification is now available on the official website of GATE 2022. The exam is schedule to be conducted on February 03- 04 & February 10- 11, 2022 (Saturdays & Sundays). Check the notification issued online here-
IIT Guwahati is the sole authority which will release the information brochure, GATE application form, admit card, result and cut off. Alongside, the conducting authority will also decide the final examination patter for the GATE 2022 Examination.

Through GATE, candidate’s technical understanding will be evaluated in duration of 03 hours. It is an online examination where you have to solve MCQs and Numerical Questions. Candidates who attain the minimum cut off marks in all sections will be called to attend the counselling process conducted by participating institutes. The exam will be held in 23 disciplines and each question paper with contain 65 questions containing 100 marks. General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics are mandatory sections.

The final merit list disclosing the rank of the candidates and seat allotment details will be issued by IIT Guwahati to admit the eligible candidates in different post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech., direct Ph.D. Last year, GATE 2022 Examination was conducted by IIT Roorkee, wherein over 9 lakh aspirants applied and only 1.3 lakh were declared qualified. Various PSUs (Public Service Undertaking) such as ONGC, NCL, GAIL, NTPC, etc also accept the GATE scores for recruiting eligible candidates to premium technical positions.
Due to the mentioned fact, every year, the number of GATE applicants increases with several folds that make also enhance the difficulty level of the examination.
