Himachal Pradesh University: Eligibility Criteria for Admission in M.Sc/MBA

Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla has invited applications for MBA (Rural Development) and M.Sc (Environmental Science) for the 2022 session.

Eligibility Criteria:

• For MBA candidate should have Bachelor Degree (BA, B.Sc, BBA, B.Tech, BCA) under 10+2+3 pattern of education in any discipline or its equivalent from any Institute/ University recognized by the HPU, Shimla/ UGC, New Delhi with at least 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) marks in aggregate.
• Minimum qualifications for admission to M.Sc Environmental Sciences shall be Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Sciences (Medical & Non-Medical, Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry) with any of the subjects, i.e. Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetic, Molecular Biology, MBBS/B.V.Sc/B.Tech or its equivalent from any Institute or University recognized by the HPU, Shimla/ UGC, New Delhi with at least 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

The admission to this course shall be on the basis of merit as determined by the marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying examinations. However, if the number of applicants is five times the number of seats, the Institute will conduct an entrance examination.

Reservation of Seats:

Admission to all the courses shall be subjected to the following conditions: -

• 15% and 7.5 % seats shall be reserved for SC & ST candidates respectively, having domicile of Himachal Pradesh irrespective of the Institutions from where they have passed their qualifying examination.
• The remaining 77.5% seats shall be filled as under -
  (i) 25% of the seats for admission shall be open to all the candidates irrespective of the Institution from where they have passed their qualifying examination.
  (ii) 75% of the seats shall be filled out of the candidates, who have domicile of Himachal Pradesh subject to the following reservations: -
• 5% of the seats shall be reserved for outstanding and sportsmen/women.
• 5% of the seats shall be reserved for outstanding cultural activists.
• 3% of the seats shall be reserved for physically handicapped candidates.
• Provided, however that the minimum eligibility for admission to a course in case of SC/ST will be 5% lower than the eligibility conditions for other students.
