The Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test – 2011 (EAMCET) will be held on May 22 instead of the scheduled date of May 8 due to clash of dates with the by-elections announced for Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.
The decision has been taken after exploring all options. JNTUH Vice-Chancellor and EAMCET-2011 Chairman D.N. Reddy said that the government has chosen May 22, which is a Sunday to avoid inconvenience to students, said.
He also maintained that students should not worry over delay as the exam date was anyways scheduled a week earlier compared to last year when it was held on May 30. The schedule for submitting application forms has also been extended and now candidates can apply till April 8 with a fine of Rs. 1,000; till May 7 with a fine of Rs. 5,000 and till May 19 with a fine of Rs. 10,000. Those submitting forms with late fee of Rs.5,000 and Rs.10,000 have to write the test in Hyderabad.
Results
The results will be declared in the first week of June, said EAMCET Convenor N.V. Ramana Rao and the final ranks around June 30, depending on the results of the Intermediate examinations.
