Delhi University’s first round of placements saw 4 companies visit it on Tuesday. One of the companies was a job portal that has already hired 22 students for sales & marketing profiles. The other 3 companies have taken resumes of students with them. The recruitment process which lasted till late evening saw a turnout of 800 students.
According to officials from the Central Placement Cell (CPC), the average salary offered was Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. The next round of placements will be held on 29th November 2012 when a Japanese company will visit the campus with the highest placement offer of Rs 1.25 lakh per month. The company is likely to offer jobs in sales with posting in Tokyo for first three years.
The registration process for the central placements have already ended with the last date being 31st October 2011.
In the 2010-2011 academic session, out of the 12000 students who had registered, the CPC had managed to place nearly 1,000 students. 30 companies had visited the campus for placements last time that included PSUs, KPOs, BPOs and NGOs. The highest package offered last year was Rs 5.5 lakh per annum to a post-graduate student for finance profile. The lowest annual package offered was Rs 2.10 lakh.
