The word ‘Cafeteria’ always brings a smile on dull faces. For college students it is the place for fun, gossip and verve. Cafeterias not only offer scrumptious food but also let many ideas take shape and flourish in to ‘World Changing’ action. It is here that debates gets hotter and fun gets groovier. For those who have graduated, cafeteria holds a special place.
Now, Delhi University students will have another option to enjoy a tasty, and reasonably-priced fare right on campus, with a new cafeteria having opened up near the Central Library, Arts Faculty, in North Campus.
The self-service cafeteria, which replaces the popular Spic Macay canteen, was inaugurated on 31st January 2013 by Delhi University vice-chancellor Dinesh Singh.
The cafeteria's food partner is the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
With tea being offered at Rs 6 and a simple vegetarian Thali for Rs 15, the cafeteria is a good place to catch a reasonable meal, Singh said.
"It is a healthy, hygienic and economical option for the students," he said.
