As per latest news, Delhi University’s new session is going to start from July 21, 2014.

But following the mayhem and chaos surrounding the elimination of FYUP, the classes’ time-table has not been prepared yet. However, DU has assured students and teachers to begin the new session as scheduled.

DU has swung its four year undergraduate programme (FYUP) to three years degree course. As a result, the course structure must be change from this year onward. The papers that used to split in 8 semesters in FYUP will now divide into 6 semesters.

Students celebrating DU’s decision to scrap FYUP

A General Body Meeting (GBM) was called by the DU Principal Association to discuss about the rescheduling the session by a week or more.
Dr.S.K. Garg, the President of Principal Association said that the decision on General Body Meeting will be taken after the discussion with the principals of colleges under DU.

According to the principal of RamlalAnand College, it will take time to prepare time-table, however, the colleges still don’t have any information regarding this.

The Committee of College Principals have prepared and sent a formula to the departments that need to besanctioned in the Academic Council and Executive Council’s meeting. The final decision will be taken only after getting approval from the council.

Uncertainty leads the students panic

There is a huge commotion in the admission procedure of Delhi University right from the beginning of this session. Students have enrolled themselves in FYUP but now the course has been restructured to the three year program. The last date of admission is July 22, 2014 however, if the session is postponed further, the admission dates could be extended further.

As of now, there is a provision of maximum 8 cut off lists for DU admissions which would also be extended in case of vacant seats.

As the admission procedure of IP University is on hold, DU would probably start an admission cancel round. With all the hustle and bustle, DU continues to struggle to begin its new session as scheduled.

What is next? Dilemma is still continuing

And the plight of the students who are seeking fresh admissions this year and those who had enrolled last year for the 4 years undergraduate program is beyond imagination. What lies in their fate, is still a big question.
