The new FYUP reform in the University of Delhi made the distribution of free laptops as a part of the programme. Students who take admission for undergraduate in July academic session will be provided with new laptops.
Those were wondering about the laptops, there is news that free laptops have already been distributed among the students with disabilities. 484 laptops have been distributed in more than 50 colleges of DU till date.
Computer now-a-day has become as an essential part of our life. Making it also a part of the studies many a states across India have distributed free laptops for its students. DU has also added use of IT to its new FYUP to make the course more interesting for the students. In this regard each student will need a laptop because TI is going to be use in big way.
As for other students of the general category, the laptops will be not distributed before September this year. At the inauguration ceremony of the media laboratory at Kalindi College, Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh said that all first year students will have personal laptops that the university promised by the end of September.
The laptops will be provided to each college, which will in turn disburse them among students after signing an undertaking or depositing a security amount.
