A one day National Workshop on ‘Plant based management of Ganga water pollution’ will take place on Aug 24, 2012, at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidalaya, Haridwar. It is a CSIR-NBRI (National Botanical Research Institute) initiative who has remarkable research in the field of river pollution.
This workshop would be inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of Uttrakhand Shri Vijay Bahuguna, in the presence of Director CSIR-NBRI Doctor C.S Nautiyal, Chief Scientist Dr. S.N Singh, Dr R.D Tripathi, Senior Principal Scientists and Principal Scientist Dr. U.N Rai, K.S Rawat, Dr. D.K Upreti Dr. S.K Tiwari, &Dr Vivek pandey.
The guest of honor is Swami Chidananda Saraswati, and the Presidential address will be made by Honorable Chancellor Dr. Pranav Pandya.
Purpose of Workshop
The core purpose of this workshop is to have detail discussion and training on the cleansing process through plants, awareness on the present condition of river Ganges. This workshop would be attended by the environmentalists, educational institutes, self-help groups various NGOs and the commoners of the city.
