Civil Services (Main) exam postponed to 1st December, 2013

The Civil Services (Main) examination, scheduled for 5th November, 2013, has been postponed by a month.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will now conduct the examination on 1st December, 2013.

Earlier, the examination used to be held for a period of 20 days or more. Now, the entire process has been reduced to 5 days.

This means that the examination will now be conducted for five days starting from 1st December onwards.

Gopal Krishna, Director of Brain Tree Coaching Centre said the paper has been postponed on account of the changes introduced in the examination.

He said that the entire process can be completed much faster as there are more compulsory papers and only one optional.

According to Krishna, the reduced timings will benefit working professionals who would be required to take only a few days leave to appear for the exam.

Also, experts feel that postponing the exam by a month time would give students extra time for preparation.
