Board Tip: Don't Practise Without Understanding

I am in Class 12 and practise maths the most. Despite this, my performance in the subject is worst. I have been practising a lot of sample papers. But now I am apprehensive about the subject. Please help.

In Mathematics, understanding the concept is very important.
If you practise without understanding, then there is a chance of your not doing well in the examination. You are suggested to put in a lot of practice in mathematics, but not without understanding the concepts.

I am a Class 12 science student. I still have a few topics remaining in Physics, with optics being the primary one. Since it is very important, can you please tell me how to prepare optics with just a week to go for the exam?

For important topics, please read the chapter given in the NCERT book. Besides, you should also read the summary given at the end of the chapter in the book. This will help you understand and perform well in the examination.

I am a Class 10 student and weak in both science and maths. My first exam is of science, but I have not prepared much for maths as well. I don't know which paper to prepare first. I still have nine topics in maths and eight topics in science pending. Please suggest how to prepare the subjects.

Please understand the important concepts of the chapters in your syllabus in both science and mathematics. Sample question papers are available on CBSE website. Please practise these papers and ask your teachers to make available more question papers based on the prescribed syllabus and question papers design for practise.

I have completed TS Grewal for accountancy. What more shall I do to score in the 95 to 100 per cent bracket? Also, we don't have any information about the mass media studies subject and the sample papers are not related to the way we were taught. Please guide.

As far as textbooks in accountancy are concerned, CBSE recommends only the NCERT books. Scoring good marks in the subject needs a lot of practise.
Especially, understand the implication of various accounting entries. Consult sample question papers and previous years' question papers uploaded on the CBSE website.

I am a commerce student of Class 12. In the business studies exam, how do I divide my time among various questions, especially those of six marks, so that I can complete my paper in time?

There are five questions of six marks each in the business studies question paper of Class 12.
Each question, on an average, needs to be completed within nine to 10 minutes. However, the length of the question depends on the action verb of the particular question. For example, questions with explain, describe or analyse, may require more time than enumerate, state, among others.
