Azim Premji University's (APU) Admissions Open for Master Programmes for 2013-2015

Azim Premji University, Bangalore calls for applications from working professional, fresh graduates to teachers for admissions to the Master’s Programmes for 2013-2015.

Post Graduate Programmes (2 years)

• Master of Arts in Education

This course creates an outstanding professional for fulfilling careers in Education, comprising of administrators, curriculum designers, entrepreneurs, technology experts, policy specialists, researchers, etc.

Students will be the opportunities to focus on specific areas such as School Leadership and Management, Early Childhood Education, etc. in the second year. Students can pursue a balanced general programme as well.

• Master of Arts in Development

This course assists in building calibre professionals foe leadership in the social sector, with skills in inter-related development domains, from Governance & Health to Ecology. Career opportunities will span across these areas, including in the field, operations, analysis and policy roles.

• Masters in Teacher Education

This course develops highly competent teacher educators, serving the critical need of the Indian education system, to result in a large number of dedicated professionals in the teacher education system.

Eligibility Criteria

MA (Education) and MA (Development): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates with work experience are actively encouraged to apply to both these programmes.

Master’s in Teacher Education: Master’s Degree in any discipline and a professional teaching certification (BEd, DEd, BELEd or equivalent). Minimum two years of teaching experience at School or Pre- University levels.

Selection Procedure

Selection based on written test & interview examining proficiency in English, analytical ability, general & social awareness and knowledge of relevant subjects.

Written test at 28 centres across India on Sunday, February 24, 2013.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written test performance will be called for a personal interview between March 15 - 30, 2013.

Candidates can download and print a copy of the university application form, details on the form can be hand written.

 Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs.250 is payable to apply for all programmes. The fee remains the same whether candidates apply for one or more programmes. The application fee is payable through one of the following ways:

Online:

Complete the online application form and make the Rs.250 payment online through a credit / debit card or an internet banking account. An online transaction charge is applicable for payments by credit / debit card.

State Bank of India Branches (Cash payment):

Pay Rs.250 (additional bank charge applicable) at any SBI Branch across the country, using the prescribed fee payment. Payment to be made into Account No: of 'Azim Premji University - Fees a/c' at SBI Power Jyoti account no. 31645699196, Branch Code 14125.

Union Bank of India Branches (Cash payment):

Pay Rs.250 at any Union Bank of India branch across the country, using the prescribed fee payment. Payment to be made in to Account No: 554301010050039. No additional bank charges.
