All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test was held on 4th May 2014 for which the counselling was conducted from 1st July 2014 to 5th September 2014 but officials have confirmed that a total of 682 MBBS seats and another 176 BDS are still vacant.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) held three rounds of counselling for admissions into the medical courses. In the counselling, there were 297 BDS seats and 3,084 MBBS on offer at 123 government medical colleges as well as 29 government dental colleges present throughout India, except for Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh.
Reports also suggest that out of the total 3,084 seats, around 858 seats which fall under the All India quota have been returned to the respective government colleges of the states.
AIPMT 2014 was conducted to offer admissions to students in MBBS as well as BDS courses on offer at various colleges in the country for the academic session starting in 2014.
As per reports, 46,271 test-takers qualified in AIPMT 2014. Overall 18,115 examinees qualified for the 15% All India quota seats.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination. This entrance examination is conducted in two stages. Only those who clear the preliminary exam are eligible to sit for the AIPMT final exam. Presently 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges run by the Union of India, state governments, municipal or other local authorities in India, except in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, are reserved for candidates who qualify this examination.
