The AIPMT preliminary exam was conducted on 1st April 2012, the final AIPMT exam (for those who qualified the preliminary exam) was conducted on 13th May & the AIPMT 2012 results were declared on 2nd June 2012.
The responsibility of the CBSE is to conduct the AIPMT 2012 entrance examination, declare the AIPMT 2012 results and provide the merit list to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The AIPMT 2012 counselling for successful candidates would be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During counselling the eligibility criteria, various documents, etc. of the candidate is verified and Medical/Dental College is allotted to the candidate according to their choice and availability.
Number of Seats
The number of seats available in different colleges shall be displayed at the venue of counselling and on website of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare i.e. www.mohfw.nic.in during the period of counselling conducted by Directorate General of Health Services.
Details of AIPMT 2012 MBBS/ BDS Counselling:
- First Round of counselling : 11th June 2012 onwards (Tentative)
- Second Round of counselling : 27th July 2012 onwards (Tentative)
- Last date of admission: 15 days from the date of personal appearance or the time as mentioned in the allotment letter of the candidate.

Important Instructions
- Counselling will be strictly conducted at the venue as opted by the candidate in his/her application form. No change in the venue of the counselling will be allowed under any circumstances.
- Schedule for 1st Round of the counselling will be hosted on the website (www.mohfw.nic.in) only after declaration of the result and schedule of 2nd round of Counselling will be hosted on the same website after completion of the 1st Round of the counselling. Therefore, candidates may keep watching the website.
- Counselling will be held as per the Category Rank (UR/SC/ST/PH) only and the seats will be allotted to the candidates as per the 2200/3200 point Reservation Roster.
- OBC candidates should report for counselling as per their UR Category rank only.
- Under any circumstances candidates without original certificates shall NOT be allowed to participate in the counselling.
- All the successful candidates are requested to be in touch with the websites of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare at www.mohfw.nic.in and CBSE at www.aipmt.nic.in regularly till the date of completion of the admission process for UG courses, fixed by the Medical Council of India.

ALLOTMENT OF SEATS BY PERSONAL APPEARANCE (COUNSELLING)
In compliance of the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the allotment will be made by personal appearance of the candidates and as per 2200/3200 point Reservation Roster. The Schedule for 1st Round of Counselling will be hosted on the website of the Ministry only after the declaration of the result of AIPMT- Final Examination 2012. The first round of the counselling will be conducted for about 2000 candidates only. The Schedule for 2nd round of Counselling will be hosted on the said website after completion of 1st round of counselling. Only the successful candidates whose Roll numbers are included in the Merit List/Wait List shall appear in person for allotment of seats on the notified date. The counselling shall only be conducted according to the Category Rank (UR/SC/ST/PH) and not by the All India Rank. The candidates are directed to be present at venue on the commencement of allotment by personal appearance mentioned against their rank i.e. 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM as the case may be. No separate intimation regarding counselling (allotment by personal appearance) will be sent to the candidates individually.
The candidates appearing for allotment by personal appearance should bring the following documents in original along with an attested copy of the documents for verification failing which they shall not be allowed to participate in the allotment process :-
(i) Admit Cards of Preliminary & Final Exam issued by CBSE.
(ii) Rank letter issued by CBSE.
(iii) Date of Birth Certificate (if Metric Certificate does not bear the same)
(iv) Metric Certificate
(v) 10+2 Certificate
(vi) 10+2 Marks Sheet
(vii) 2 Passport size photograph same as affixed on the application form.
(viii) The Candidate should also bring the following certificate, if applicable:
(a) SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority and should be in English or Hindi. If it is in regional language then it should be translated in English/Hindi and should be attested by Class I Gazetted Officer. Sub-caste should be clearly mentioned in the certificate. SC/ST certificate must be in the format as mentioned in Appendix-I.
(b) OBC Certificate should be issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the Central list of OBC. OBC Candidates should not belong to Creamy layer. OBC certificate must be in the format as mentioned in Appendix-II.
(c) Orthopeadic Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Boards. No other PH certificate, issued by any other Authorities/Hospital will be entertained. For this, the PH candidates are, therefore, requested to get examined and certified from the authorized Medical Board set up at four metropolitan cities. Details are available at Para (6). Candidates are advised to get them examined and get certificate of physical disability immediately after declaration of AIPMT result, they should not wait for day of Counselling for their check up.
Note:-
(i) Provisional certificate of 10+2 is permissible for those candidates who had passed in the year 2012 only.
(ii) Under any circumstances candidates without ORIGINAL certificates/documents shall not be allowed to participate in the counselling.
Candidates who are already admitted in MBBS Course and have deposited their original certificates in any Medical College/Institute/University and come for counselling with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the Medical College/ Institute/University”, will NOT be allowed to participate in counselling in any case.
