B.Ed (Special Education Visually Impaired) is one year degree course under the Faculty of Education, University of Delhi and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Admission to this course is open to all men and women from India.
This course has reserved certain seats for Sc/Sts/OBC/Physically Disabled i.e. 15% of total number of seats for SC and 7.5% for STs. 27% additional seats are for OBC and 3% are reserved for Physically Challenged persons and 25% of the seats will be reserved for candidates offering Mathematics/or Science, as a teaching methodology paper subject to the condition that such candidates obtain at least 55% marks in the entrance test.
Selection of candidates for admission to B.Ed will be made on the basis of merit in the entrance examination to be conducted under the guidance of Dean, Faculty of Education, Delhi University.
All the candidates are required to appear in the entrance exam which consists of two parts, Objective and Subjective. Candidates called for the entrance test are required to check their names and Roll No. on the college notice board or college website. They are requested to report the exam centre sharp by 9 am on scheduled date.
Eligiblity for B.Ed (for visually Impaired)
• B.A/B.Sc or an equivalent degree at graduate level with two of the school teaching subjects as the area of study at the Bachelor degree level. In case if the candidate does not have two school subjects in degree level, he/she should have one of them at the 10+2 level, with minimum 55% marks.
• Should have scored 50% aggregate in the qualifying degree examination. Concession of 5% is applicable in case of Sc/St/OBC/Physically Disabled

About the college
Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education (Visually Impairment) was established by the Blind Relief Association and offers Bachelors degree courses to its students who are visually impaired. The students can opt for a Bachelors degree in education for the visually impaired. Established in 2006, Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education is an unaided college and receives partial grant from National Institute for Physically Handicapped (NIPH) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education works in close association with international and national universities like Jamia Milia Islamia, IGNOU, and JRHU Chitrakoot. The college also offers consultancy services to various national and international institutions.
